However, you can always buy them in the supermarket or on Amazon. I used them a lot for pasta sauce and even Indian food. The truth is I am not a fan of canned tomatoes, especially a tomato paste, which I never use. I also stopped using ketchup, because it’s full of salt and sugar.

This is why I make this my Homemade BBQ Sauce often. At this time I finally took a few photos before it was all gone, lol. Past few times I forgot, so I am happy I finally did it, I have couple of recipe on my blog already with this BBQ sauce for example PULLED JACKFRUIT and more is coming. Although, you may like to use it for your own recipes as well.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sundried tomatoes oil free, soaked for 15min
  • 1 ½ cup of water
  • Juice from 1 lime you may add more if needed
  • 1 tbsp organic molasses
  • 1 tbsp low sodium Tamari
  • 1 tsp smoke liquid
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Himalayan pink salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Blend all in a blender util smooth.
  • Add more water if needed and adjust the taste.

Notes

Sun-dried tomatoes are available on Amazon.
This sauce gets thicker the next day, so may have to add a couple of tablespoons of water if you did not use it the day you made it. You can also add maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter flavor. It can be stored in a refrigerator for up to one week in a sealed container.
